Privacy policy

AskRanked ("we", "us") is operated by AskRanked, India. This policy explains what we collect when you use https://askranked.com and why.

What we collect

  • Email address: when you run a free check, create an account or subscribe.
  • The URLs, competitor names and questions you submit, plus the AI answers and results we generate from them.
  • A hashed version of your IP address, used only to rate-limit free checks. We don't store the raw IP.
  • Subscription status from PayPal (subscription ID, plan, status). We never see or store your card or bank details.
  • A session cookie that keeps you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

How we use it

  • To run checks, show your dashboard and send results, magic login links, weekly reports and alerts.
  • To send product news and tips to the email you gave us (marketing). Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us to opt out.
  • To prevent abuse and control costs.

Service providers (processors)

We share only the data each provider needs to do its job:

  • Cloudflare: hosting and database.
  • Google (Gemini API): we send it the buyer questions we generate and an excerpt of your public web page. On Google's free Gemini API tier, Google may use submitted content to improve its products, so don't submit confidential information.
  • OpenAI (API): we send it the buyer questions only (not your email). We ask OpenAI not to store these requests; API data is not used to train OpenAI's models by default. When we add Perplexity, the same kind of data will go to it, and we will update this page.
  • MailerLite: newsletter list. Resend: transactional email delivery.
  • PayPal: payments and subscriptions.

Some of these providers process data outside India, including in the United States and the EU.

Retention

Free-check results are kept for up to 12 months. Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request, except where we must keep billing records by law.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by emailing hello@askranked.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are in India, you can also contact our grievance officer at the same address, as provided for under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and, where appropriate, email you.
